What are Rad8 Photochromic lenses?
Photochromic lenses are coated with photochromic dyes that enable the lenses to rapidly darken, when they are exposed to ultraviolet light. The greater the intensity of UV rays, the darker the lenses become. When UV light is no longer present (indoors or at night) the lenses fade back to their original state.

Do I still need sunglasses?
Extreme sun conditions, such as when skiing, sailing or at the beach, require specific frames and special lenses that protect your eyes and provide contrast improvement adapted to these conditions. The Rad8 range of mountain bike glasses are designed for the UK weather and will protect your eyes when you are outdoors in most weather conditions.

How good is the anti-fog coating?

When will my glasses arrive?
Normally Rad8 glasses are dispatched the next day using an express service. You should receive any products in the UK within the 2-5 days from your order.
Can I order Rad8 glasses from anywhere in Europe, Asia and the United States?
Postage is currently free in the UK . For Europe, Asia and Australia there is a small postage premium to cover the carrier charges but we do not post to the USA.
Can you make special orders?
If you have a specific design or colour you would like, it may be possible to customise an order to your requirements. Please let us know through the contact us page.
Are Rad8 Photochromic lenses as clear as an ordinary clear lens indoors?
Rad8 Photochromic lenses are initially clear indoors.
How long do Rad8 adaptive lenses last?
Photochromic lenses are designed to last the lifetime of the glasses.
How do Rad8 photochromic lenses differ from standard sunglasses?
Sunglasses have a fixed tint - no matter what situation you’re in they’re always the same shade. Unlike sunglasses, Rad8 photochromic lenses darken automatically accordingly to the level of UV light present. They continuously and smoothly adapt their level of tint so that you see well in all light conditions.

Can you provide prescription lenses?
Rad8 have partnered with and optical lab to provide prescription lenses in Rad8 504 frames. The lenses supplied are Transitions plastic impact resistant lenses which are photochromic (clear to grey) and have anti-scratch and anti-fog coatings. the prescription lenses are available as single vision, bifocal or varifocal option. What we need from you. - Your prescription from your optician and a PD measurement (this should be available from your optician)- it is a measure of your distance between your pupils- this is important to ensure that the lenses are centred around your eyes see here.
Can i return my prescription glasses?
Frames are available to order to make sure they fit ok. As prescription lenses are tailored to the individual we cannot accept returns on the prescription glasses unless they are faulty.
